The Aurora Deanery Center is a Catechetical Office located in the former school building at Saint Mary Parish, Aurora. The Deanery DRE maintains an office at the Center to coordinate local and Diocesan Religious Education efforts for adults, youth and children.
The Deanery Center is accountable to both the Aurora Deanery and the Diocesan Office of Catholic Education. It functions according to the policies of the Catholic Education Commission of the Rockford Diocese under the guidance of the priests of the Deanery.
The primary focus of the Aurora Deanery Center is to assist Parishes in the Aurora Deanery in their Catechetical ministries by providing resources, consultation and training.
What Services are provided by the Aurora Deanery Office?
Catechetical Training - Diocesan and local training sessions are available for Parish catechists, Catholic School teachers and interested adults.
Parish Ministers - training sessions can be arranged, as requested, to assist Parishes in the training of various ministers. Videos are available for training of Liturgical and Pastoral Care Ministers.
Resources - Videos, books and publisher’s catalogs are available for use and study by all parish ministers.
Educational and Support Sessions - are held for various groups including monthly Catechetical Leaders and R.C.I.A. Leaders meetings.
Retreats - The Deanery DRE is available to assist with various retreats at the center or at the parish.
Meetings - The Center offers facilities for regular meetings and occasional Diocesan meetings.
Bulk Orders - The Center assists parishes by annually ordering books and liturgical resource materials from various publishers. These bulk orders lower the cost of materials for the parishes.

Claire M. Perez - Deanery DRE, works directly with parish Catechetical Leaders, R.C.I.A. Leaders and Principals to train catechists and teachers and develop Religious Education programs. She also provides other types of training as requested. Claire can help with the practical aspects of Religious Education and keep you informed of Diocesan directives. |
